West Cork
As the name suggests, West Cork Distillers is located in the west of County Cork in Ireland. The independent craft distillery was founded in 2003 by three childhood friends: John O'Connell and cousins Ger and Denis McCarthy. What began as a small experiment in a back room developed into one of the largest Irish-owned distilleries in the country. Today, the distillery employs more than 140 people, many of them from the region, and produces Irish Whiskey, Gin and Vodka for a global audience. read more

Kommentar: Nicht sehr komplex, aber eine ausgesprochen schöne Apfelnote, das Calvados Finish hat sehr gut gegriffen. Für den Preis gibt es von mir eine Empfehlung für "Whisky für zwischendurch", wobei dieser sogar einen exotischen Charakter hat, dieses Finish findet man nicht allzu oft.
