Product description
The Canadian brand WhistlePig not only grows its own grain on its farm and distils its own whisky. With the help of their former Master Distiller, David Pickerell, they have also purchased a cask stock of various Canadian blended whiskies. Pickerell, who died in 2018, had good contacts in the industry, having previously been the Master Distiller for Maker's Mark Bourbon Whiskeys for 14 years. The 10-year-old Whistlepig Rye comes from the Alberta region and was matured in bourbon casks.

Kommentar: Ein leckerer Rye, der nicht so kernig daherkommt wie man meinen möchte. Rye-Anteil vielleicht nicht so hoch? Auf alle Fälle noch viele typische Bourbon-Noten klar erkennbar. An sich toll ausbalanciert, aber wohl etwas überhyped und dadurch zu teuer.
