The limited Bunnahabhain Cask Strength Edition 2025 reflects the unadulterated character of the Islay distillery and is inspired by visitors who tasted the whisky directly from the cask at the distillery. The second, non-smoky edition of the 21 Year Old Cask Strength was initially matured in Oloroso sherry casks and then given a 21-month finish in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks to develop additional depth and complex sweetness. Master Blender Julieann Fernandez personally selected each cask so that this Bunnahabhain Cask Strength takes a new direction in character and flavours, while remaining true to the distillery's unmistakable signature. The taste of the 21-year-old is impressive with a harmonious combination of sherry sweetness, dark dried fruit and subtle spicy nuances.

Bunnahabhain means 'river mouth' translated from Gaelic. The distillery is the northernmost on the island of Islay and is located about three kilometres from Port Askaig. It was built by the Greenless Brothers in 1881.

Geschmack: Haselnusscreme, Datteln in Honig, sehr saftige sirupartige Süße. Marzipan
Abgang: Sehr lang. Klebrige Süße, die langsam in eine leichte würzige Trockenheit und Bitterkeit übergeht.
Kommentar: Unglaublich gut eingebundener Alkohol. Solch dichte Aromen mit extrem harmonischem Mundgefühl kann nicht jede Destillerie. Der 12er Cask Strength geht 80% der Strecke dieses 21 jährigen und ist ebenfalls eine sehr gute Abfüllung. Sherry-Himmel. -
Herstellerbeschreibungle 23.10.2025Aroma: Reichhaltige Trockenfrüchte, Sirup-Toffee und brauner Zucker führen Akzenten von Walnuss, Leder und einem Hauch von Küstensalzigkeit.
Geschmack: Süße, in Pedro Ximénez getränkte Rosinen, Kakao und Schokoladenkirschen stehen im Vordergrund. Dann verbinden sich Anklänge von gerösteten Nüssen, würziger Eiche, Espresso und wärmendem Zimt mit feinen Nuancen von Gewürznelken.
Abgang: Lang und wärmend mit Facetten von dunkler Schokolade, Pflaumen und einer eleganten Note von Meeresgischt.
