With the "Glenlivet Caskmakers" project, experienced coopers and whisky experts have developed a special process in which two different cask types are combined to create a new cask. This technique represents a further development of traditional cask making and is intended to enhance the depth of flavour of the whisky. In cooperation with cask specialists from Speyside in Scotland and Jerez in Spain, selected former sherry casks and freshly burnt European oak casks were used. The coopers in Jerez dismantled the barrels to reassemble them stave by stave, alternately combining the different types of wood. The result was a reconstructed cask with a unique structure and flavour. Some of the Glenlivet whisky was specifically matured in these newly created casks. Through contact with the different types of wood, the Single Malt develops a complex interplay of flavours with notes of ripe fruit, honey, spices and a subtle hint of roasted pineapple. This process combines traditional craftsmanship with innovative cask finishing and reflects Glenlivet's ongoing commitment to continuously developing the quality and variety of its Single Malt Whisky.

Herstellerbeschreibungle 13.11.2025Aroma: Reife Birnen und Honig ergänzen die warmen Gewürze Zimt, Ingwer und Muskatnuss.
Geschmack: Süße Pflaumen und reichhaltige Trockenfrüchte, harmonisch abgerundet mit gegrillter Ananas, gerösteten Eichengewürzen und einem Hauch von Lagerfeuerrauch.
Abgang: Süß und reichhaltig mit würzigen Facetten.
Geschmack: Einprägsam, fulminant und dominant: Sherryfrüchte (wie oben beschrieben), helle Gianduia-Creme, Nougat, Vanille, usw.
Abgang: Maximal mittel. Eine tolle (meisterhafte) Balance aus Würze, Frucht und Eichennoten.
Kommentar: Einer der besten NAS-Whiskies ever!!! Der Preis ist hoch, aber er schmeckt einfach verdammt gut! Viele Whiskies mit Altersangabe, von mach namhafter Brennerei, könnten sich hier eine Scheibe abschneiden! Weil sie dann doch nicht die Erwartungen erfüllen können. Bei dieser Abfüllung stimmt einfach alles: Die Fässer, Fassreifung, Nachreifung, Innovation, Erwartung, Geschmack, etc. Einfach weiter so Glenlivet!
