Description du produit

The 12-year-old single malt whisky comes from the Miltonduff distillery and was created by the independent bottler Signatory Vintage from first-fill Oloroso sherry butts. It is #14 in Signatory's 100 Proof range, in which exclusive whiskies with an alcohol content of at least 57.1% vol. are bottled. The term proof is an ancient unit of measurement for the alcohol content of a drink, particularly whisky, which indicates the minimum alcohol content above which gunpowder soaked in the liquid can be ignited. This method was used in the heyday of seafaring so that the barrels in the belly of the ship could withstand the harsh weather conditions at sea.

Andrew Peary and Robert Bain founded Miltonduff distillery in 1824. The distillery had previously operated illicitly on the site since the turning of the century, but following the passing of the Exercise Act, Peary and Bain established the distillery as a legitimate business operation. After debuting to a successful start in 1866, the distillery was purchased by William Stuart. In 1895 Thomas Yool & Company became part owners of the site, and a few years later Yool went on to completely control the distillery. en savoir plus

Aroma: Richtig tiefe und reife Sherry Noten, herrliche Frucht Aromen und schöne sahnige Vanille, die kommt allerdings erst, wenn man ihm Zeit im Glas gibt.

Geschmack: kräftig, richtig kräftig! Ingwer Schärfe bzw. Pfeffer, dann wieder Frucht und geilste Sherry Noten, genau mein Ding, der hat Power ohne Ende.

Abgang: Mittellang, wieder wie die Nase, Sherry, dunkle Beeren Frucht, Vanille...dazu noch bisschen Schoki

Kommentar: Lasst ihn Luft und Zeit im Glas. Es waren keine "billigen" Sherry Fässer, sondern top Qualität zu einem fairen Preis.
Hab mir sogar eine zweite Flasche geholt. Man kann auch gut mit Wasser experimentieren.
Für all die Genießer, die auf fassbetonte, kräftige Malts mit richtig Power stehen, nichts für Leute die milden Stoff mögen, denn der hier kann für den ein oder anderen etwas "scharf" wirken.
