Richard Paterson put Nomad together from several 5- to 9-year-old Scottish Single Malts and a small portion of Grain whiskies. The whisky was then married together for a year in sherry casks. At the end, the usual whisky conventions were broken: the Blend was transported to Spain to mature for another year in 30-year-old PX sherry casks. Thus, the producer, the sherry producer Gonzalez Byass, also named the Blend as a new type of whisky 'Outland Whisky'.

Abgang:
Kommentar: Ein toller anderer Whisky, süß, purer Sherry Einfluss, wenig Eiche. Sehr warm, mit vollreifen Troten Trockenfrüchten -
Hanspeterle 21.02.2024Aroma: Der Sherry-Einfluss ist dominierend in der Nase, das zeigt sich durch Trockenfrüchte, Nüsse, herbere Noten, Weinnoten, und dann eine deutliche Creme Brulee, also wirklich voll von Sherry inspiriert.
Geschmack: Auch im Mund sehr sherrybetont, anders als bei Whiskys die in Schottland im Sherryfass lagerten, viel mehr Nüsse, Trockenfrüchte; dann aber im Mund süßer als in der Nase, also das PX-Fass zeigt sich erst jetzt so richtig.
Abgang: Und der Abgang wird durch eine enorme Walnussnote dominiert.
Kommentar: Ganz, ganz tolles Experiment, super gelungen. -

Kommentar: Mir deutlich zu sherrylastig, zu wenig komplex, Begeisterung hält sich deutlich in Grenzen.

Kommentar: Sehr süß und fruchtig, fast so, als hätte man ein paar Tropfen des hochwertigen Sherrys beigemischt. Wundervoll.
