Stauning Smoked R.Y.E. is an innovative Danish rye whisky that adds a new smoky dimension to the traditional Stauning Distillery signature. As the first smoky bottling from the Stauning Studio, the distillery's creative centre for limited and experimental editions, this whisky explores the combination of smoke and rye in an artisanal and sophisticated way. The Smoked R.Y.E. is made from locally grown, ground-malted rye and barley. The smoke comes from Danish peat and heather and gives the whisky a gentle, characteristic smoky tone. After distillation, it is matured in new American oak casks and then finished in Moscatel sherry casks, which give the whisky additional depth and fruity nuances. The result is a well-balanced whisky with a fine structure, soft texture, subtle fruity notes, floral hints and an elegant smoke that blends harmoniously into the overall picture. Stauning Smoked R.Y.E. shows how experimental approaches and local ingredients can create an independent expression of modern Danish whisky.
