After its initial maturation in Bourbon barrels, the Wolfburn Cognac Cask Finish was refined for 6 months in Cognac casks made from the finest Limousin oak. The 8-year-old whisky was bottled at the usual slightly higher Wolfburn drinking strength of 46% vol, with a natural colour and without chill-filtering. Luxurious flavours are combined with deep and complex notes of honey in the Wolfburn Cognac Cask Finish.

La distillerie: Wolfburn
Wolfburn is the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland. It was originally built in 1821 but had to close again in the course of the 19th century and today only ruins of the old complex remain. In 2011, a new distillery was built not far from the ruins and in the meantime the production volume has returned to the same level as in the 19th century. The logo features a wolf, whose related mythical creature, the so-called 'sea wolf', is said to bring good luck to all those who set eyes on it. In the 16th century, when the drawing for the Wolfburn logo was made, there were plenty of wolves in the area.

Aroma: Noten von getrockneten Früchten mischen sich mit süßen Portnoten. Es folgen Aromen von Vanille mit nur einem Hauch von Kaffee und dunkler Schokolade.
Geschmack: Luxuriös mit getrockneten Aprikosen und Mandeln, dazu Vanille und subtile, wärmende Gewürznoten. Nach einer Weile im Glas kommen Anklänge von Gerstenzucker mit weicher, dunkler Schokolade hinzu.
Abgang: Süß mit Vanille- und Herbstfrüchten, die sanft verblassen und am Ende nur eine Spur Karamell und Meersalz hinterlassen.
