Bunnahabhain means 'river mouth' translated from Gaelic. The distillery is the northernmost on the island of Islay and is located about three kilometres from Port Askaig. It was built by the Greenless Brothers in 1881.

Kommentar: Sehr guter Whisky, aber der Preis ist zu hoch. Im Vergleich zum 12 jährigen Bunna, der deutlich billiger ist und fast genauso schmeckt.

Nase: reife Früchte, wie Aprikosen und Pflaumen, Hauch von Vanille und einigen Noten von Holz und Nüssen.
Geschmack: reichhaltig und komplex, reifen Früchte, Karamell und Noten von Schokolade, süßen Malzigkeit, Sherry, dunkler Schokolade und einer Spur Zitrus.
Abgang: lang und wärmend, Eiche, einem Hauch von Rauch und einer angenehmen Süße, die an dunkle Schokolade erinnert. Trockenfrüchten und eine dezente Würzigkeit spürbar.
Beschreibung: Dieser Whisky ist hervorragend ausbalanciert, wobei die süßen, fruchtigen und rauchigen Elemente harmonisch zusammenwirken und ein rundes, hervorragendes Trinkerlebnis bieten.
Ich würde ihn jedem Whisky-Liebhaber empfehlen.
