Most Glen Garioch malts are matured wholly or partly in bourbon casks. This bottling was matured entirely in Spanish sherry casks. After 15 years of maturation, the whisky was bottled non-chill-filtered.

Abgang: lang und wärmend, voller Wohlfühlcharakter mit süßer und leicht bitterer Note. Viel Sherry und altes Holzfaß.

Kommentar: Beim normal langsamen Trinken erschließt sich der Geschmack nicht vollständig, er hält sich zurück. Erst beim längeren "Gurgeln" und dann schlucken denkt man nur "Wow!". Sehr kräftiger Geschmack, nimmt einen voll ein, aber am höheren Alkoholgehalt scheint es nicht zu liegen. Wie gesagt, er haut einen um.

Aroma: Intensiver Sherry, fruchtig, Erdbeeren, Schwarzkirschen, reife Pflaumen, bis hin zu schwarzen Johannisbeeren, unterlegt mit alten Eichenmöbeln, etwas Terpentin, Leder, Cavendish- Tabak...
Vielschichtig, intensiv, komplex

Geschmack: Süß, fruchtig, wieder die Schwarzkirschen, intensiver Sherry, Demerarazucker, süße Backgewürze, dezente Eiche, belegt die Zunge mit Aromen,
mit ein paar Tropfen Wasser intensives süßes Lakritz, Bestes handgemachtes Pflaumenmuß.....

Abgang: sehr lang, Gewürzkuchen, süß, Kräuter, Eiche, etwas süßes Lakriz, Speichelfluss

Kommentar: Toller Sherry- Fass Whisky
