This 11-year-old Linkwood matured in a first-fill bourbon cask and was released by the independent bottler Signatory Vintage. Andrew Symington founded his company at the end of the 1980s and has always maintained good contact with the distilleries. Today he can call a stock of over 10,000 casks his own. This bottling is part of Signatory's Cask Strength Collection, in which the whiskies are bottled directly at cask strength. They are particularly recommended for advanced connoisseurs. All bottles carry precise information about the distillation and bottling dates as well as the casks.

Peter Brown founded the distillery in 1821. At its inception, the site had only two stills, and Whisky operation wasn't entirely legal yet. Aroma: Süß mit viel Vanille und Honig, mit einer frischen, ordentlicher Portion Obst (Pfirsich, aber vor allem grüner Apfel)

Geschmack: Kräftig und voluminös, wieder süß mit Karamell und Honig, Äpfel werden dunkler, Holznoten kommen hinzu und die Süße geht in die Richtung dunkle Schokolade

Abgang: Kickt noch einmal hinterher, es verbleiben holzigen Noten und dunkle Schokolade mit floralen Noten

Tolles Teil! Ohne Wasser problemlos genießbar, aber das ist eine individuelle Sache.

Aroma: Saftiges Obst, Vanille, Blumig und Eichenwürze

Geschmack: Fruchtig mit Heidehonig und Vanille, Blumig gemischt mit etwas Holz

Abgang: Lang und intensiv mit Früchten und blumigen Akzenten

Aroma: ungewöhnlich rauchig, alkoholisch

Geschmack: pur ungenießbar, Rauchig, mit Wasser süßer

Abgang: lang, zarter Rauch, adstringierend trocken

Kommentar: schmeckt wie es-Islay cask, aber da first fill offenbar heftig ausgekohlte Fässer....
