Product description
This Indri Single Malt, from the town of the same name in the Yamuna River basin, is made from the classic 6-row Indian barley that has been cultivated for hundreds of years. The Sanskrit that adorns the bottle refers to Indriya's five senses: smell, taste, sight, touch and hearing. First fill Bourbon, ex-PX sherry and French wine casks were used for maturation.

Kommentar: beim ersten Mal trinken, fand ich ihn aufregend. Er schmeckt jedenfalls nicht wie ein Schotte. Das herbe und die Eiche überdeckt für mich zu viel. Trotzdem 4 Sterne

Aroma: Nuss-Nougat-Creme, Eiche, würzig, Ananas, Cocosraspel, gelbe Früchte, viel Eichenholz, wirkt exotisch, der Alkohol dieser wohl recht jugendlichen Abfüllung sticht ein klein wenig, stört mich hier aber nicht.

Geschmack: wuchtig, kräftig, dickflüssig wie Sirup, würziges Eichenholz, Ananas, Sternfrucht, mittlere Fruchtsüße, weißer Pfeffer, orientalische Gewürze, ganz viel Haselnusscreme, Pfirsich, Äpfel. Leichte Fruchtsäure.

Abgang: wieder das Eichenholz, die exotischen Früchte klingen ab, leicht adstringierend, die Haselnusscreme und die Cocosimpressionen bleiben mit den Gewürzen noch eine ganze Weile im Rachenraum.

Kommentar: erinnert mich etwas an die Intensität und das Aromenspektrum von Kavalan, aber er ist besser und günstiger als deren Standardabfüllungen, echt genial für unter 40 €. Die Inder können also auch Whisky.
