This Aultmore was released by the independent bottler Signatory Vintage. Andrew Symington founded his company at the end of the 1980s and has always maintained good contact with the distilleries. Today he can call a stock of over 10,000 casks his own. This bottling is part of the Signatory 100 Proof Edition, which are no longer just high-proof, uncoloured whiskies, but affordable bottlings that have been matured for a long time. They are characterised by first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, but this is a single malt that was long considered an outsider due to the strong demand for blends. After 17 years in the cask, it skilfully combines spicy and herbal notes with the nutty sweetness of the sherry casks.

Kommentar: Der Preis für das Alter und den Geschmack stimmt. Irgendwie tauchte im Whisky auch ein Geschmack auf der an Bourbonfasseinfluss erinnert. Vielleicht doch ein Finish im Sherry Fass? Oder das Sherry Fass war Amerikanische Weißeiche? Naja, auf jeden Fall schmeckt er!
