This Glenfiddich was allowed to mature in French wine casks in which Canadian ice wine from the Niagara region had previously been stored. After its release, the bottle was quickly sold out; only a few bottles strayed into Germany.

Kommentar: Etwas flach und recht einfach im Geschmack. Im Abgang merkt man die Eiche, die Bitterkeit gefällt mir nicht so gut. Von den Weinfässern kann man nicht viel schmecken.
Dieser Glenfiddich ist nicht mein Geschmack.

Kommentar: ein relativ untypischer Whisky mit fantastischen weinig und fruchtigen Aromen. Er läd sofort zu einem weiter Glas ein. Vor Jahren waren mir 234 Euro für ein solchen Whisky zu viel Geld. Nun habe ich ihn für über 400 Euro erstanden und habe dies nicht bereut!

Geschmack: erneut süß und fruchtig, die Weinnoten sind klar vorhanden, mit der Zeit immer stärker werdende Eiche

Kommentar: Ein sehr guter Whisky und ein wirklich gelungenes Experiment.

Aroma: Zu Beginn muss gesagt werden, dass man diesen Whisky genauso verkosten sollte, wie Brian Kinsman es vorschlägt, nämlich in einem gefrorenen Glas in das man eine gefrorene grüne Traube hineinlegt; dann entfalten sich die Aromen perfekt; ein tiefes, schönes Litschi-Aroma entfaltet sich, denn wenn man ihn nicht in einem gefrorenen Glas verkostet, kommt das zu wenig durch, man hat dann nur Eiche in der Nase, und es ist eben dann schön, dass die beim gefrorenen Glas am Anfang noch zurückbleibt und sich erst später dazugestellt.

Geschmack: Auch im Mund schön fruchtig und eine intensive Litschi; und auch schon bald eine kräftige Eiche; ganz intensiv ist diese Eiche, ohne das "Freeze-Experiment" wäre die Eiche fast zu stark und würde dem Litschi keinen Platz lassen.

Abgang: Lang anhaltender, schwer eichenlastiger Abgang; die Traube, die man selbstverständlich dann isst, passt gut zum Litschi-Aroma.

Kommentar: Tolles Experiment; aber ob das EUR 288.00 (März 2021), bzw. EUR 348.00 (Juni 2021) Wert ist, sei dahingestellt.
