Jasper Newton Daniel, or simply Jack to his friends, was a headstrong man with big plans. But he would never have dreamed that his whiskeys would be delivered from a small town all over the world since 1866. Of course, we still make them today just as Jack Daniel did over 150 years ago. That's how it was, that's how it will stay.

Fire and flame for real whiskey

It is the filtering through three metres of sugar maple charcoal that makes our whiskeys so tasty. Some we filter only once, some twice. But the fact that we still make the charcoal ourselves is a matter of honour for us.

Each cask is unique

We build our white oak barrels by hand, burn them out for more intense flavour and use each one only once for the maturation of our whiskeys. Our Master Distiller alone decides when the whiskeys are ready. To bring Jack's taste to more people afterwards, we sell the used barrels to producers of scotch, beer or hot sauces.

Nothing has changed about our timeless classic since 1866. The same recipe of corn, rye and barley, the same filtering through three metres of sugar maple charcoal, the same care in maturing in white oak barrels ensure consistent quality and flavours between caramel, vanilla, wood notes and light fruit.

The secret of our Gentleman Jack: instead of filtering it only once through three metres of charcoal, we allow it a second filtration. This ensures an incomparably mild taste experience and flavours of orange, vanilla, mint, caramel and ripe apples.

Our Single Barrel Select is the ideal companion for special moments. As with all Jack Daniel's single barrels, only one out of 100 has what it takes to be one of our most characterful whiskeys. The result: a perfect balance of orange, vanilla, mint, dark cherry and oak flavours.
