Most Glen Garioch malts are matured wholly or partly in bourbon casks. This bottling was matured entirely in Spanish sherry casks. After 15 years of maturation, the whisky was bottled non-chill-filtered.

    Aroma: reife, dunkle Früchte: Rosinen, Pflaumen; aber auch Anklänge von Zitrus: Blutorange; Süße (Grog?)

    Geschmack: Süße; kräftiges Sherryaroma; angenehme Eichenwürze; leichte Erdigkeit erinnert an einen Glenrothes

    Abgang: mittellang; Eiche und Kakao

    Kommentar: Ein sehr komplexer Malt, der seine Zeit braucht, um sich nach dem Öffnen der Flasche (aber auch im Glas) zu entwickeln und der auch einen Schluck Wasser (1-2 Teelöffel) verträgt.

    Kommentar: Im Abgang etwas Eichengeschmack, hat mich etwas überrascht, habe ich weder im Aroma, noch beim ursprünglichen Geschmack erkannt.

    Aroma: Fruchtikeit. Honig, Orange, sehr komplexe Geschichte, hier muss man sich Zeit lassen, dann viele Facetten Rosinen, Nüsse.

    Geschmack: angenehm. Aber zugleich kräftig im Antritt, transportiert viel an Geschmack, von Zitrusfrüchten typische Orange, nicht allzu süß wie man ihn erwartet. Tolle Fässer

    Abgang: lange im Mund verbleibend, röst Aromen, dunkle Schokolade hinterher dann wüzigkeit, viel Speichelfluss. Toll

    Kommentar: für ü 80€ im p.v aber absolut schöner whisky, der sollte in keiner Sammlung fehlen meines Erachtens.
