Hatozaki Pure Malt is a vatting of 100% malt whiskies. These were matured in ex-bourbon casks and Japanese Mizunara oak casks, giving the whisky a rich profile. Hatozaki Lighthouse is the oldest stone lighthouse in Japan and has been navigating mariners along the coast since 1620. The Kaikyo distillery is located very close to this lighthouse, which symbolises reliability and openness to the world.

Aroma:
Geschmack: empfinge ich stärker als 46% ABV und leicht jung/alkoholisch mit und deutlich weniger als im aroma wahrnehme.
Abgang: trotz 46% ABV doch eher kurz bis mittellang
Kommentar: hm schwierig. aroma gefällt mir absolut (vor allem die kokosnote und vanillesüße), aber der geschmack fällt anders (und schlechter) aus.
habe ihn auf 43% verdünnt, was dann das aroma doch etwas abschwächt, aber den geschmack angenehmer und damit den whisky mMn harmonischer macht.
PLV finde ich insgesamt eher (unter)durchschnittlich, wobei man für japan-whisky (wenn das hier denn einer) halt immer etwas mehr bezahlen muss... und er dafür noch preislich okay ist. kann man preislich machen, wenn man etwas risiko-freudig ist, was das probieren angeht.
