Product description
The Franconian St. Kilian distillery was built according to the Scottish model and has been in operation since 2016. It is distilled on 6,000 litre copper stills from the Scottish company Forsyths in Rothes. The local malt is ground in the in-house mill and then mashed. Smoky malt was used for this exclusive bottling. The distillate was then matured in a single former Madeira cask.

Steinfrucht Süße, Rauch in schönem Einklang
Geschmack:
Ordentlich Rauch, rollt ordentlich über die Zunge, ein kleiner Schluck Wasser macht ihn gefälliger, sehr schöne Kombi zwischen Süßen Pfirsich oder Mira Ellen mit deutlichem Rauch (kein Torf!)
Abgang: einziges Manko: bleibt zwar relativ present, wird aber im Nachgang zu herb/bitter - sonst hätte er 4 Sterne verdient Peach Tropical Fruit Barley Bonfire Smoke Herb

Kommentar: Interessanter Single Malt, aufgrund von PLV 4,5 Sterne, dominanter feuchter (Islay) Torf Rauch gepaart mit der voluminösen Fruchtigkeit des Madeira, viskose Textur, "rauchiges ,rotes Apfelmus", Beerenkompott, schöne geräucherte Kräuter (Rosmarin), sehr vielschichtig für das Alter, Alkohol allerdings spürbar und weniger gut eingebunden, ein etwas älteres Alter wäre noch interessanter.
