Product description
The Matsui comes from the Japanese Kurayoshi distillery in Tottori, in the south of Honshu. It was first matured in bourbon casks and then transferred to bourbon barrels with lids made of Japanese cherry wood. As part of the limited edition design bottles, the label features the famous woodcut 'Beauty in the Cherry Blossom Garden'. The paper is designed like an old parchment sheet on which the woodblock prints were printed in the early 19th century.

Kommentar: Ich habe ihn ein halbes Jahr immer wieder probiert. Die Japaner haben durchaus einen anderen Ansatz, die Aromen sind sehr leicht, mit viel Phantasie kann man auch japanisches Kirschholz erahnen. Die Aromen haben es schwer sich gegen den Alkohol durchzusetzen. Für diejenigen die auf vollmundigen Geschmack stehen eher nicht geeignet. Immerhin eine Erfahrung, aber der Preis steht für mich in keinem Verhältnis zum Geschmack.

Ich kann Oliver nur 200% zustimmen: So fein, leicht und unfassbar weich.... obwohl er sicher noch nicht so alt ist, wunderbar cremig. Und dann dieser ganz besondere, florale Duft und Geschmack. Der mich wirklich etwas an einen blühenden, japanischen Zierkirschenbaum erinnert, den wir im Garten stehen haben!! Etwas hochwertiges, etwas ganz besonderes und dabei ganz anders als alle anderen Whiskies, die ich bisher probiert habe (und das waren einige).... Nicht kühlgefiltert, nicht koloriert... interessant eigentlich für jeden: Den Kenner, der mal etwas anderes, besonderes sucht....oder der Beginner, der einen feinen, cremigen und sanft durchwärmenden Whisky sucht.
