Craigellachie means stony hill. The distillery continues to use traditional worm tubs to cool the distillate. They give the whisky a special flavour. This Single Malt Whisky is produced as a limited batch and matured for 23 years in first fill bourbon casks and first fill sherry casks before being bottled without chill-filtering or colouring and with an increased alcohol content.

    Aroma: komplex und erkennbar mit Alter; weich, Waldkräuter, tausende Früchte, kandierte Orangen, Mokka-Töne, Marzipan, ein bisschen Bratapfel, weinige Töne, etwas Rumtopf, Holz; leicht ein alter Schuhschrank, Datteln, Blumen; fast etwas leicht Fleischiges mit der Zeit (vom Sherry?)spät auch hier sehr leicht eine "Industrie-Note", aber schwach im Vergleich zum 13er und 17er

    Geschmack: oh, wow, anders: Lakritzsüße mit Orangen, Beeren, Pflaumen, Weintrauben, Muskat, Zimt, Gewürzkuchen, Anis - wow!

    Abgang: süüß, dabei unheimlich komplex, volle Fruchtnoten, kandierte Früchte; später raus die Anis-Gewürzkuchen-Eichen-Note; laaaaang und traumschön

    Kommentar: toll, vor allem eine Fruchtigkeit mittendrin, die so nicht zu erwarten war; komplex, reif, voll; schon ein toller Whisky; gar nicht so industriell; halber Punkt Abzug nur für den steilen Preis
