Taste:
Finish:
Comment: Laphroaig Quarter Cask: its profile is so distinctive and powerful. It is not only the peat & smoke, but also the phenolic complexity; it is a profile that has no equal in the world, balancing the rough and brute force that strikes you with the sweet and malty notes.
On the nose there is much more than peat: coastal and medicinal scents, with sweet hints, like charred marshmallows. Powerful but rich, the stronger alcohol content makes the smoke more substantial and pungent. After some time in the glass, the alcohol calms down a little bit, the sweet and salty notes tame the peat, and the sip becomes less aggressive.
The palate is nicely oily; the sensation is of a big punch of peat, enclosed in a sweet-salty glove.
The finish is long, with all the aromas remaining on your palate.
