Ardbeg Corryvreckan was named after Europe's largest ocean whirlpool. It is located near the Hebridean islands of Islay and Jura on the west coast of Scotland. Not chill-filtered and at 57.1% vol, Corryvreckan is the epitome of Islay's untamed character.

The Ardbeg distillery was officially founded in 1815 by John McDougall. But Whisky was distilled long before that. There are no documentations, as Ardbeg was an illegal business back in 1794.

Aroma: Ein deutlicher Rauch ist zu spüren, der alles andere fast überlagert, dann aber kommt die Süße dunklerer Früchte durch, und schon in der Nase eine leichte Würze.
Geschmack: Im Geschmack kommt zuerst auch der Rauch, dann eine Note von süßen, eher dunkleren Früchten, aber das ist alles bald vorbei, denn dann schlägt die Eiche zu, das wird so richtig pfeffrig.
Abgang: Im Abgang eine massive Pfeffernote, die man kaum je wegkriegt.
Kommentar: Ein Whisky für jene die es gerne ganz extrem mögen.

Geschmack: kräftig und vollmundig. Starke Torfnoten mischen sich mit schwarzer Schokolade, Espresso und einer würzigen Note von schwarzem Pfeffer. Im Hintergrund sind süßere Aromen von Karamell und Vanille spürbar.
Abgang: lang und anhaltend mit einer bleibenden Würze und einer deutlichen Rauchigkeit, angenehme Salzigkeit.
Kommentar: Die robusten rauchigen und torfigen Noten sind harmonisch mit den süßen und würzigen Elementen abgestimmt.
Er ist ideal für Liebhaber von starken, torfigen Whiskys und bietet ein reichhaltiges, intensives Erlebnis. Extraklasse von Islay.
