Glenmorangie Triple Cask Reserve was matured for the first time in three different types of cask. Ex-bourbon, new charred oak and former rye casks were used. This single malt is an excellent introduction to the world of whisky and is part of Glenmorangie's core range. Dr Bill Lumdsen's distillery has the tallest stills in Scotland, with necks reminiscent of a giraffe. This makes the character of the single malts from the Highland distillery significantly fruitier.

The stretch of land in the Northern Highland on which Glenmorangie stands has been the site for alcohol production (mostly illicit) since the Middle Ages, setting a formidable legacy. Glenmorangie was founded in 1843, although operation didn’t start until 1849.

Abgang: kurz - einfach nur kurz.
Kommentar: Der Geschmack und Abgang hält leider gar nicht, was die Nase verspricht. Mir fehlt hier die sonst ausgeprägte "Familienähnlichkeit" aller Glenmorangies, die ich sonst so liebe. Leider ein dünnes "Wässerchen" ohne Mundgefühl. Normalerweise kann ich mich fast blind auf die Beschreibungen im Shop verlassen. Hier leider ein ziemlicher Reinfall - hier ist nichts mundfüllend, reichhaltig oder gar viskos. Nur Alkohol. Wirklich schade.

Kommentar: Relativ lang anhaltende Würze und Schärfe im Abgang, welche den alkoholischen Nachgeschmack gut zu übertünchen weiß - für einen noch jungen Single Malt erstaunlich komplex.
