Glengoyne 9 Jahre - 2008 Banana Milkshake in an Alpine Meadow Casl 123.27

Aromas began with the sweet seduction of vanilla and coconut that ventured into substantial oaky tones like freshly sawn timber in a sawmill. Soft flowers gave us the impression of strolling through an alpine meadow in springtime whilst sipping on a creamy banana milkshake. Fruity tones introduced fresh pineapple and lemon cordial, perhaps with a slice of sponge cake on the side. The palate progressed from a chilli and ginger start into lime marmalade and the sweetness of icing sugar before landing onto grated milk chocolate. More developed notes touched on gentian root and a sweet herbal concoction that contained elements of peppermint. A continuation of fresh wood remained through to the finish along with coconut husk and crumbly ginger biscuits.

Dezente Holznoten,
keine Sherry Bombe,
Honig, ordentlich Alkohol,

Geschmacklich überrascht er dann doch.
Das Holz kommt deutlich hervor,
leicht bitter, aber doch aromatisch.
Der Sherry hält sich vornehm zurück.
Von dem hätte ich mehr erwartet.
Er ist wuchtig und schwer.

Kein typischer Glengoyne!
Das Fass hätte wohl nicht viel länger lagern dürfen.
Der ist nicht rund,
eher eckig und kantig.
Aber auch das hat seinen Reiz…
